Our History

Tiny Tickers was founded in 1999 with the aim of improving screening for congenital heart disease (CHD) before birth.

At that time, the published detection rate for CHD was about 25% with wide variation, so better in major cities and worse in rural areas.

In 2002 we funded a free hands-on, on-site training programme and piloted it in 12 hospitals.

Based on positive feedback from the pilot, we offered training throughout the UK.

In 2008, we we asked to train all Wales and in 2010, we were asked to train 3 regions in England.

Last year alone we trained over 80 hospitals in England and Wales.
