How to get involved
1. Friends of
Tiny Tickers ....
Although our work is serious, we believe that
fundraising should be fun.
Friends of the charity come from all walks
of life with the common purpose of wanting to help
babies
with heart disease.
In the past, friends have walked, marched, run, sung, danced, diced, shopped,
wined and dined, raffled, auctioned and partied
to raise money and raise awareness.
Events range from poems, story evenings, pop-idol contests, wine-tasting, jazz & dance events
and our bi-annual
charity Ball.
Future events are posted on the News and Events
pages.
If you have fundraising ideas please contact us
(also see below).
If you are affected by congenital heart disease
and would like to share your experiences, please
email us. You can also join us on
Facebook
Whatever you do - join us - and help reduce
the impact of heart disease on babies before they are born.
More Ideas ... Pampered Chef
Amanda wrote to tell us how to host a charity
event using
www.PamperedChef.com
Use the website to find a consultant that lives in your area
and
tell them you wish to host a charity event. Arrange a date
and time, and invite as many people as you can.
The consultant will usually
agree
two recipes
with you that they will cook on the night.
You
buy the ingredients and the
consultant
will do the rest.
You can also
do a raffle and ask the consultant (and your
guests) to donate small prizes, such as home made cake etc. and
you might also club together to provide some drinks and nibbles.
The
cooking is done using the Pampered Chef kitchen products, which the
consultant will
demonstrate; everyone can then sample the
food and order any products they like.
The event can be as big or small as you want and
obviously the more people the more money is raised for charity.
Amanda invited 24 friends
and raised £250 on the night for Tiny Tickers. She said, "We
all had a great evening - people didn't know they could have as
much fun with a garlic press and food chopper!"
If you would like to find out more,
please
contact us.
2. Challenge yourself (Online
Sponsorship)
1.
Create your Challenge: a
challenge can be anything -
your favourite (or least favourite)
sport or activity, a dinner/dance,
a coffee morning, afternoon tea, a
pub quiz ...
(look around this page and visit our
events pages for more ideas).
2.
Create an
Online Sponsorship Page:
www.MyCharityPage.com/TinyTickers
allows
you to donate to, or fundraise for, Tiny Tickers
3. Publicise
your event
and allow people
to support you online.
Let people know why you are taking up the challenge.
4.
Ask for help: tell friends, relatives and colleagues and ask for
support - most people are very helpful and just waiting to be asked.
5.
Contact us by email to tell us about your
event.
We will help in any way we can

4. Thank YOU!
We would like to say a very big THANK YOU to
everyone who has supported us in recent years. We have been
amazed at your generosity and willingness to go the extra mile (in
some cases quite literally!).
We hope you will take an interest in
the charity and support us in the future.
Spread the Word
Congenital heart disease is much more common that
people think and most cases are not
detected before birth, despite the many benefits.
Help us to improve the care of babies born with
heart disease. Spread the word and help more "heart babies" to
have a better start in life.
5. Fundraising standards
We support the
Fundraising
Standards Boards initiative to improve the standards of charity
fundraising in the UK.
We are not members (as we are a small charity and
there is a fee to be a member of the FSB), but we pledge to follow
their code of conduct.
Any concerns about our fundraising can be raised
with us, the FSB or the Charity Commission.
