Tiny Tickers is excited to be attending Instagram influencer, Lauren Davies’ upcoming event, The Housewise Summer Social.
The networking event, bringing together content creators and brands, will take place at Voco Hotel in Manchester on the 8th June. This is an incredible opportunity for our tiny charity to spread awareness about congenital heart disease (CHD) and our work improving the early detection and care of babies with serious heart conditions.
Tiny Tickers will attend the event thanks to the support of bereaved heart mum, Katie Thomas. Katie’s son, Harrison tragically passed away suddenly at 32 days old. Seven months later, she discovered his death was caused by a hole in his heart (VSD), which had gone undetected during her pregnancy and after Harrison’s birth.
Katie says, “I miss Harrison more than I could ever put into words. It’s a daily unbearable pain. I wonder what my newborn would look like now, what his milestones would have been, about his relationship with his sister, how they would have grown up together and what his persona would have been. Who would he have become?
“An undetected congenital heart defect robbed us of that chance.
“A defect that was operable. That if diagnosed early enough would have given him the chance to be here today.
“This is why it’s imperative that a charity like Tiny Tickers exists. It’s incredibly crucial in spreading awareness, to educate and to encourage some much needed changes.”

We’re incredibly grateful to Katie and Lauren for offering us a stand at the Housewise Summer Social, and supporting us through the raffle. Our attendance will enable us to share our vital work with a huge audience, and will greatly assist us in our mission to ensure no baby leaves hospital with an undetected heart defect.
Booths of London and their sister company Showtime Photo Booth provided us with a photo spot for the Housewise Summer Social.
