Update March 2023: Due to a fantastic initial response to our launch of the National Training Fund, we have temporarily put new application considerations for fully funded training on hold. If you would like to discuss urgent or paid-for training or would like to be considered for our waiting list, please do get in touch.
Thank you for your interest in applying to the new Tiny Tickers National Training Fund. We are a UK charity working to improve the early detection and treatment of babies with congenital heart disease (CHD). We recognise the vital role that sonographers play in detecting CHD as early as possible – so this fund is suitable for NHS Trusts who wish to benefit from our specialist sonographer training.
Thanks to the generosity of our funders, we are able to offer a limited number of fully funded expert sonographer training days. If your NHS Trust would like to apply to receive this expert training at no cost (usual charge is approximately £675 per day), then please complete the application form below.
We visit your hospital to provide this training face-to-face, using the equipment your sonographers will be using on a daily basis. We can train up to 10 sonographers on a training day – combining a theory presentation and practical hands-on training. We focus on normality, but also cover the most common major cardiac abnormalities and how to recognise them. All of our trainers specialise in fetal echo and have many years of experience. If you have any questions, please contact training@tinytickers.org.
If you have said yes to the above and are applying for fully funded training please provide your hospital’s NCARDRS CHD detection rates* for 2021 & 2022 and email your most recent NCARDRS report to training@tinytickers.org
Please note: NCARDRS data supplied will remain confidential and be used to target and develop our training and to produce anonymised data for the purpose of reporting requirements to our funders.
